We had our General Membership Meeting April 11th, at The 21 Club with 31 members present.

A big thank you goes out to everyone who helped in letting our congressmen know to vote NO on SB1351.

We will stage at Hardee’s in Knoxville on Sunday May 3rd to ride as a group to the freedom rally in Springfield. Please be fueled up and ready to go, we will leave at 9:30 A.M. Sharp.

Our event in May is the Annual campout and ride-in-reunion at Big River Campground, please see flyer elsewhere in this paper. We are in need of firewood for that weekend; please contact us if you can bring some (309-342-7304). Thank you everyone for the donations to this event.

We are still in need of people to help collect auction donations for the annual Central IL. A.B.A.T.E. Bash. This year we are selling tickets for a 7 day 7 night stay in one of over 4000 resorts worldwide. Julie has tickets available for members to sell. We would like to thank Mark Shearer for donating this.

In other news, it is time again for Knox County to do a disaster readiness drill. Member Ron Noble has a son that is working on his Boy Scout Eagle project assisting in getting people to help in this drill. The drill will be on June 12th, 8 AM at the Galesburg high school. More info will be at the next meeting, please plan to attend and sign-up to help out.

The following bylaw change proposals was submitted and read at the April meeting. They will be read, discussed and voted on at the next general membership meeting as set forth in article XVI of our bylaws.

Article XVI Amendments to these bylaws, Section B reads as follows:

The Secretary will read the proposed change to the membership during the meeting, but no voting action or discussion on the change will be allowed.  Voting and discussion will be during the next regularly scheduled general membership meeting to allow members to be aware of the proposed change by notification in the newsletter.

Proposed change:

The Secretary will read the proposed change to the membership during the meeting, but no voting action or discussion on the change will be allowed. The secretary will then turn the bylaw over to the bylaw review committee chairperson, to discuss with the bylaw review committee and bring back their recommendation to the chapter for discussion and voting at the next regular scheduled membership meeting.
