We had our General Membership Meeting March 14, at The 21 Club with 28 members present. We had one guest, Dianna and one new member at the meeting, Don Houseman.
Our first event of the year was the “Cabin Fever Party” on February 21st. We had a good turnout for this event and made a few dollars for the general fund. We want to thank Rusty for hiring Iron Horse to play at this event and allowing us to have the event At RPM’S. Thank you Euclid beverage for the giveaways.
Our next event is March 28th, the 21st Annual Broomstick Pool Tournament at JB’s Woodshed, 110 East First Ave., Monmouth, IL. We hope many of you turned out for this event.
Our first ride of the year is the Shakedown Run, April 26th, with Sign Up from Noon to 1 PM at Main Street Office, 583 E Main St in Galesburg. Entry fee is $5 but new members joining for the first time can ride the event free if they join at sign in. Last stop will be at 21 Club by 5 PM. This is a SUNDAY Ride! Look for the flyer in this issue.
There is helmet bill proposal going to the Senate floor (SB1351). Please call and send letters to let your local representative know to vote NO.
Bert brought info on the ISU motorcycle rider training program. Something new this year is being able to register online at www.motorcyclesafety.ilstu.edu
We would like to see all of our members at a meeting. We normally only see about 20-25 at a meeting; is there a better day or time that would work for you to attend a meeting? Please let us know by sending a letter to the chapter mailing address below. We also have membership surveys available from our membership coordinator or at our website, www.centralilabate.org
