We had our General Membership Meeting Aug 9th, at the 21 Club with 20 members present.   We also had a new member, Judy Litwiler, attending and a round of applause was given for her. 
 

    The Charity Hog Drive ended on August  15th. This year's event was a stand alone event with the proceeds going to D.I.G.I.T, Western IL Special Olympics, and Galesburg Youth Athletic Club.  The winning retailer was announced at the Saturday of the Bash.  We thank G&M Distributors for their support of this Charity Fund Raising Campaign.  We have not tabulated the results of the charity hog drive yet as the official deadline was today as this is written, Aug 15th.  We will give out the checks to the Charities at the September Meeting.

   We had received our order of Kevin Cain Memorial Patches but his last name was misspelled due to a phone ordering snafu.  Bert has reordered the patches and hopefully they were here in time for the Bash, which we have dedicated to the Memory of Kevin who was killed on his bike on June 28th by a teenage driver who was attempting to pass a car and came into Kevin's lane and hit him head on.  This was 9:30 PM so it was dark and reports of high rate of speed on the part of the teenager have been noted.
 

   We want to thank everyone that came out to the Bash and helped set up and/or helped clean up on Sunday or just helped run the different jobs during the event.  This is a fund raising event for Central this year and the Auction Items proceeds went to our Trauma Toys and Motorcycle Safety Funds.  I'm sure we had a good time.  Thanks, everyone!
 

 

     Our next Board meeting is at 21 Club, Galesburg, at 7 PM, Wednesday, Sept 10th, and the general membership meeting is on Saturday Sept 13th, at 21 Club, 1/2 block North of the Post Office in Galesburg. DO NOT PARK IN THE OLD SEARS PARKING LOT. IT IS A TOW ZONE. PLEASE PARK IN THE 21 CLUB PARKING LOT.  If you need to verify a meeting or other information, Bert McElroy is the President and his Phone # is 309 344-4080. Keep in mind that he works most weekend days and call after 5:30 PM or anytime during the day to leave a message on the answer machine.
