We had our General Membership Meeting June 14th, at the 21 Club (the former Benny's) downtown with 23 members present. There were no guests but 2 new members to be introduced.  We voted to donate the requested $50 to the Region Party to help pay for the Friday night band, which will be in conjunction with the Fulton County ABATE Rodeo in August. 
 

       We will once again be asking for volunteers to help sell beer tickets during the Knox County Fair which runs from July 29th to August 2nd this year.  This helps our good will with the Fairboard.  We are trying to get things settled for the Bash this year and hopefully will have at least one hot shower available.  We will need people to help clean up on Sunday.  The Bike Show sign-up will be on Saturday from 11 AM to Noon, and the field events will follow that at approximately 3 PM.  We also have determined that any auction items that are donated to the Bash will benefit our Trauma Toy and Motorcycle Safety Funds.  If you have an item you wish to donate, or know of someone who does, it will benefit a good cause.

    The Charity Hog Drive will start on July 1st and run through the first couple of weeks of August. This year's event is a stand alone event with the proceeds going to D.I.G.I.T, Western IL Special Olympics, and Galesburg Youth Athletic Club. We have teamed up with G&M Distributors and they will put out the "paper hogs" for people to donate. The retailer raising the most money will receive a hog roast and band for a party at their establishment. There will be a Hog Roast Run to visit the top runners-up, ending at the Hog Roast.
 

    Our next event is the Nite Flite on July 19th with sign-up at 3 AM to 5 PM at RJ's Pub in Galesburg.  See the flyer elsewhere in this paper. Also look for the Bash flyer in this issue that has revised Bike Show and Field Event times.  We did not put a flyer in the paper, but on July 26th, we will have the Anniversary Dinner Ride to celebrate the Anniversary of Central IL A.B.A.T.E., Inc, formation on July 29, 1985.  Meet at Nees Harley-Davidson, 1 block east of the I-74/ East Main St exit 48 in Galesburg by 4 PM with plans to leave at 4:30 PM to a location as yet undecided for dinner.

     IF YOU ATTEND A MEETING OR FUNCTION AT THE 21 CLUB, DO NOT PARK IN THE OLD SEARS PARKING LOT. IT IS A TOW ZONE. PLEASE PARK IN THE 21 CLUB PARKING LOT.

     Our next Board meeting is at 21 Club, Galesburg, at 7 PM, July 9th, and the general membership meeting is on June 12th, at 21 Club, 1/2 block North of the Post Office in Galesburg. If you need to verify a meeting or other information, Bert McElroy is the President and his Phone # is 309 344-4080. Keep in mind that he works most weekend days and call after 5:30 PM or anytime during the day to leave a message on the answer machine.
