Brothers and Sisters:
    Had our last meeting at the 21 Club, 74 North Chambers in Galesburg
on November 8th.  There were 16 members in attendance.  We voted to have
the Bash 09 be a two day event, but another motion was made to consider
if it should be a Friday and Saturday event or a Saturday and Sunday
event to be decided at the December 14th meeting.  And that meeting is
on a Sunday afternoon, at RPM's on Grand Ave in Galesburg at 1 PM.  We
will try to keep the meeting as short as possible so the Appreciation
Party can be started with the potluck.  We needed to have a place that
persons that are not able to negotiate steps could get into easily.  We
have invited representatives of the Charities that we support to be in
attendance and hopefully we can get a group picture of members and the
representatives.
    Members are asked to please call Bert at home, 309-344-4080 and get
on the list as to what side dishes are being brought so we can plan if
we have enough to make the meal.  Donations of meat items are in the
works, so side dishes is what we need to know about.  Again, the
December meeting is on Sunday, Dec 14th, at 1 PM.
     This meeting will also be nominations for the officers, with the
exception of the one State Board Delegate, Bert, who was elected last
year for this 2 year term.  Following is a list of what positions are up
this year:  President- 2 yr term, currently held by Bert McElroy;
Vice-President- 2 yr term, currently held by LeRoy Kitch; Secretary- 2
yr term, currently held by Jim Dean; Treasurer- 2 yr term, currently
held by Willis Queen; Membership- 2 yr term, currently held by Richard
Gaines; State Board- 2 yr term, currently held by Gary Johnson;
Legislative- 1 yr term, currently held by Bert McElroy; Safety & Ed- 1
yr term, currently held by Willis Queen; PR- 1 yr term, currently held
by Scott Sornberger; Activities- 1 yr term, currently held by LeRoy
Kitch; Special Events- 1 yr term, currently held by Gary Swede Johnson;
Sgt. At Arms- 1 yr term, currently held by Jim Matthews.  Our By-Laws
specify that you must have attended 50% of  the meetings in the past
year in order to run for office, but if there is an open spot that no
one runs for, it may be filled by appointment of a willing person.
    The toys collected on the Polar Bear Toy Run & Chili Cook-Off were
donated to the Abingdon Legion for their disbursement and the money
collected from the run and other donations to the campaign are being
used to purchase toys for other organizations to help make the Christmas
for kids brighter.  The committee was to meet today, November 15th at 2
PM for the purchase of the toys at K-Mart in the Mall in Galesburg, who
is allowing us a 10% discount which will be used to buy additional
toys.  We thank everyone, especially the 91 riders on the Polar Bear Run
on Nov 1st, and the people who made Chili for the riders at the last
stop in Monmouth at The Alley.  We also thank the Grand Tap in
Galesburg, for allowing us to sign up there and the stops along the
way:  Abingdon Legion, Crossroads at the junction of Rt 41 & Rt 116,
TJ's in Roseville, and the last stop on the square in Monmouth, The Alley.
    Next membership meeting is December 14th, 1 PM, at RPM's, and the
next Board Meeting is Dec 10th at 7 PM at 21 Club, 74 N. Chambers.
