Brothers and Sisters,
We had our General Membership Meeting March 8, at RJ's Pub with 23 members present. There were no guests or new members to be introduced but there some members that had not attended a meeting in a while and we hope they come back again.

Our first event of 2008 was the "Leap Year Party" on February 29th and we had a good turnout with over $130 added to the Trauma Toy Fund. We want to thank the Band "Iron Horse" for playing the event, a big thank you to Randy, owner of RJ's Pub for paying for the Band and hosting the event at his place, and G&M Distributors for providing drawing prizes.

The next event is March 22nd- the 20th Annual Broomstick Pool Tournament at The Alley, 103 Market Alley, Monmouth, IL. We hope many of you turned out for this event.

Our first ride of the year is the Shakedown Run, April 27th, with Sign Up from Noon to 1 PM at Audi's Pizza, 425 E Main St in Galesburg. Entry fee is $5 but new members joining for the first time can ride the event free if they join at sign in. Last stop will be at RJ's Pub by 5 PM. This is a SUNDAY Ride! Look for the flyer in this issue. Thanks to Jim Hawk of Hawk's Tattoos for the Panhead motor picture on the flyer.

LeRoy has applications for advance registration for the Bi-State Awareness Ride in the Cities that costs to go on, for the first time in 24 years, as Rock Island and Moline Police Depts are demanding to be paid for traffic control to the tune of $4500 this year, which takes place on May 3rd. The other thing is that they will be limited to 2,000 bikes. It is $7 per person in advance and $10 on the day of the Event. There is also a special $15 package that gets a t-shirt, pin, and entry.

At the March meeting, Willis gave his Safety & Education Report on using the T-CLOCK system for checking out your bike for the upcoming season. Everyone had a handout to take with them to use at home.

Our meetings are held at RJ's Pub, 2085 Grand Avenue, Galesburg, at 7 PM. The Board will be meeting on April 9th, and the general membership on April 12th. If you need to verify a meeting or other information, Bert McElroy is the President and his Phone # is 309 344-4080. Keep in mind that he works most weekend days and call after 5:30 PM or anytime during the day to leave a message on the answer machine.
